Bavarian Bier Café Launches in Australia
In a bid to bring a taste of Bavaria to the sunny shores of Australia, the first Bavarian Bier Café was launched in July 2005 with BBC York opening its doors to the city slickers of Sydney, providing the perfect meeting spot for long business lunches, after work drinks, or a relaxing dinner at the end of a busy working day.
The popularity of BBC York saw a more rustic style BBC set up camp at Manly Wharf in the following months. With its spectacular location and sunny bier garden, weekdays, nights and weekends alike saw friends and family fill the venue for birthdays, parties, meals or simply a few relaxing biers of a Sunday afternoon in the sunshine.
To keep up with the demand for quality bier and truly satisfying schnitzels in the city CBD, BBC O’Connell Street had opened by mid 2006.
The BBC Entertainment Quarter commenced trading in December 2007, meeting the needs of hungry sporting fanatics before a day at the cricket or football, midday champagne breaks for serious shoppers, and relaxed dinners for movie and concert goers.
With the city covered in its need for Bavarian Bier, it was time to take the best out to the west with BBC Parramatta opening in June 2008, now with a capacity to hold over 700 people this is the go to venue for whatever is on the agenda.
A need was identified to bring some Bavarian fun to the most iconic of Sydney’s beaches. BBC Bondi Beach launched in June 2009 with amazing dine-in or takeaway options, allowing patrons to soak up the sun on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
